for my avatar, I picked two of my favorite things that I enjoy. This is me sitting on my lovely dog, jjong. She is the most amazing creature I ‘ve ever known, and is been my companion for many years. I enjoy playing around with her and she is just a great dog!! beside it there is a bunch of candies, and my dog and I love eating sweet things. I am almost addicted to eating too much sugarly food, that it’s very hard to suceed on my diet.

Are pretty stereotypical to Canadaian’s and North America, of the people of my country. Though, apart from the funny accent I dont think the the first part is quite true in my case (I hope).
For those of you that don’t already know and havent guessed I’m from England. I moved to the mighty Toronto from a city called Coventry, which to people that don’t listen to ska (ask Sandi) or are in the automobile industry means nothing really!
Canada is great! You are all lovely people (generally speaking, I think people on the early morning subway are nasty anywhere). So in the picture is a few places ive visited since ive been here, kudos to whoever can pick out Niagra Falls, the moutain in the background represents Blue Mountain where I go snowboarding, though its not quite that spectacular. The blue represents the cold at my first winter. Though its not as bad as I expected it!
Anyway, wrapping things up its lovely to meet you all and im looking forward to the class this samester
All my pictures were taken from stock photo website www.sxc.hu (great resource to check out!)

Yinan driving an F1 car without helmet!
Obviously, I’m a Formula One fan, a big one. Before wanting to be a designer, I actually dreamt to be an F1 driver, or at least a formula racing car driver. But after a little bit experience of karting, I realized the impossibility. Mostly because it is, you probably know, the most expensive sport in the world. But I can still watch it. My favorite team is McLaren. If you are not familiar with McLaren, you’ve probably heard of one of the greatest supercars, the Mercedes-Benz SLR Mclaren, which is made by Mercedes together with McLaren. If you don’t know SLR, check it out here: http://www.topgear.com/us/videos/more/slr-on-track (another McLaren’s supercar, McLaren F1, is also mentioned). Lewis Hamilton, my fav driver in my fav team, just won the world title very dramatically last year and became the youngest F1 champion in history. So I found a photo of him and decided to PS myself into his position. In order to let you see my face and leave myself some work to do, I decided to take the incredible risk of driving a formula one car without wearing a helmet! As Lewis waves to the fans, I turn my head and wave to you! So this is my avatar. Thanks for reading

Rumble in the Jungle
This is probably a dream for me… not to eat a giant sandwich 😛 but to be that close to a lion/lioness/cheetah/tiger… the list is long. The dialogs are there as a bit of a comic addition to the picture, the lioness, just like all the others in the cat family, has great attitude, which is probably one of the things that I truely love about them! I’m passionate about cats and the cat family in general to a point where I almost decided to become an animal trainer, or a Zoo Keeper! But things turned out a bit differently, and now I get to use computer softwares to put myself in such ‘situations’. I had 9 cats about a year ago in Pakistan (where I’m from) , but had to give them away because we were moving to Canada. My usual day included watching Animal Planet for the most part of it, and I still watch it whenever I can!
And not to mention, I also love food. In the avatar, my love for food seems to have overcome my love for big cats, but the sandwich just serves as a funny prop. 😀

- After multitudes of Photoshop fun
This picture is pretty much a perfect description of my personality, bright, colourful and full of sillyness. That propeller hat is something I’ve always wanted! The problem was, I had and still have a big head and so none of them would fit my big head , as a child you can imagine how traumatizing this was 😦 The ball pit brings back so many memories from my childhood any time there was a ball pit, that’s where I would be. I’d have to say the most memorable ball pit story would be when I went to African Lion Safari*sings* with my over paranoid aunt. I was in the pit of colourful bliss and my aunt was yelling at me saying there could be a knife or something sharp at the bottom! Naturally, terrified, considering I was 4, I climbed out quickly fearing my doom. I told my Mom the story when I got home and my Mom said “Your aunt was just worried that’s all, theres nothing sharp in ball pit’s, they have people to check them everyday.” Well as usual my Mom saved the day and ball pits and I remained close friends. That is till I grew too tall and too old:( OHHH to return to those blissful days when I could swim in a sea of colour with not a care in the world. I’m not exactly sure if I did this correctly, more I can’t manage to find the option to insert images without having it in a gallery so here this is! In regards to a story…
Every now and then there comes a time in a girl’s life when she goes a little insane, slightly irritable and irrational. It’s when we get bored of course, satiating it with new clothes, makeup, etc… for me, it was my hair. Last semester I convinced myself to cut my hair short after a lifetime of long glorious hair – now I know not to try that avenue again – but this time I wanted to spice up the colour and so I went for blue. Unfortunately the blue dye wasn’t very cooperative and had to apply a second coat. Wouldn’t be a problem had I not used up the entire contents of dye bottle so I spent four hours the next morning searching for the specific hair dye all over the Greater Toronto Area sporting greenish hair, not green which would be acceptable, just greenish. Well it’s fixed now so that brings me to the end of my hair experiments, for at least a month or so.

In your first (graded) exercise you’ll create an avatar representing an exaggerated or hyper version of yourself, as you see yourself or would like to be. Leave your inhibitions at the door — be imaginative and have fun.
Steps:
- Get a good clear photo of yourself (or several). Save it as a JPG file to portable media like a USB key.
- Find material that would make good additions, props, and background for your avatar. For example if you aspire to a future with NASA find good images like the space shuttle, space station, Earth, maybe a helmet. Facial hair or scars from test flights gone wrong might also be nice
- Bring these materials on disk for use in our Photoshop tutorial next class.
- Sketch some ideas ahead of time on paper or digitally so you have momentum from the top of the class.
Like all the exercises, this will be graded out of 4%, as one of five exercises totalling 20% of your final mark.
